 Average hotel

If you have small kids, then this hotel is not for you. Very noisy, teenagers having pool parties in the middle of the night, no activities for kids. The reservation desk is not warm ad fuzzy about room changes. Food is clean but basic. Good selection of restaurants, with the best being Brazilian. The hotel is right on the beach, which is a big plus, but the papasols a far from the water. Pick this hotel only if you get a good deal.

 Grand Oasis Review

The resort was beautiful, it's nice because it's split up between the party side and more relaxed side so you can chose which you like better. The buffets were alright food. The room was good except our shower drain was broken so you couldn't have a bath and the water did not drain properly. Overall good experience. I do not think this is a resort you would bring your children to.

 Great Hotel. Great Price.

Myself and my wife, just got back. This hotel was amazing. Always something to do and was just beautiful. I strongly recommend this hotel to anyone wanting to go to cancun.

 Very happy with our stay

This was our first ever all inclusive, and we were not disappointed. It was an awesome experience and the resort staff was very helpful. We would remmed this resort again and would stay here again.

 Great Resort (got Pyramid Upgrade)

This is my 2nd time at the resort. I went about 6 or 7 years ago and it's the best all-inclusive I've been to. ie. The best food and atmosphere. Great Service.

The trick is to upgrade to the Pyramid. (or at least get the restaurant upgrades).

The staff are excellent. I had money I wanted to exchange into tiny bills so I could tip more but their money exchange sucked. ie. I couldn't get $20 (let alone $50) in small 20peso / US one dollar bills. so bring that stuff in advance.

Not for families or old people. It's like a 20yr old crowd with some older party'ers.

There is a decent good Club on the resort that's open until 1am.

The final tip - the neighbours staying beside us climbed on to our balcony. (you can do that easily). So... lock your balcony.

 Bad room experience

The hotel's food is good.It's beautiful. The room i got first is leaking. During the night my room's floor filled with water, my luggage got wet. the water came from the roof and wall. They changed room from ocean view to non-ocean view. It's ok for me, but my new room had a door connected with other room. we can hear everything they were talking. no privacy at all. It's bad experience.

 Not too good experience

We paid $4448.80 for 2 weeks at this hotel but the price is not worth it. The food is the same almost every day and most of the time is salty and not that much food for so many people - Market Place buffet. Most of the ala carte restaurants and Tungkul buffet are not open.

 Super voyage en général!

J'ai trouvé l'hotel très bien. Super propre. Il y a un coin plus tranquille (Grand Oasis) et un coin ou ça bouge (Oasis) pour faire le Party. La piscine du côté grand Oasis est très belle et immense. C'est très beau comment c'est aménagé. Il y a un tas de restaurants et la nourriture est très bonne. Par contre ce qui manque c'est les couteaux à viande car couper un steak avec un couteau à beurre c'est pas évident. Il manque également de lumière dans les chambres. À part de ça rien à dire! Très beau voyage!

 Grand Oasis not so Grand!

Check in was painless, rooms were not great but only there to sleep. Quite noisy through the night as the rooms aren't very soundproof so you could here the yahoo's.
Alacarte menus were not great as all the good items you had to pay for. food overall was good but I have had better. Thought we were booking at a 4.5-5 star but rated as a 3.5 and that would be generous at best. Second time in Cancun and with Oasis and I will never stay at one again. You can get much better for the same price elsewhere.

 First trip to Mexico

We were disappointed with the room as I paid for a Pyramid suite and received a room that compared to a $40.00 motel room. After voicing my concerns to the front desk managers nothing was corrected.3 day into my 5 day vacation we were moved to the suite we paid for.

 Beautiful Resort, Disappointing Service

All of the common areas of the hotel were stunning and met our expectations for a 5-star resort. The entertainment was also excellent. So on the outside, the Grand Oasis aimed to impress. Unfortunately, beneath the surface was a different story. Our room was small, with a dingy bathroom and an uncomfortable bed. The view from the balcony was stunning - it was too bad that there was just one sad plastic chair for all of us to share. We traveled with our 6 year-old and 4 month-old. I wouldn't recommend this resort to anyone using a stroller or wheelchair, since it was extremely inaccessible. The food was good overall, but when we would order off a menu at an a la carte restaurant, or from room service, we were often told they didn't have a number of the listed items, because they were out of chicken, shrimp or even hamburgers. The staff did not all speak English fluently. Finally, when we told the front desk about a hole in the outside wall leading directly to the ant colony on the balcony, we were assured someone would come to fumigate. No one ever showed up.

The strong points of this place was there beach it was nice and there location its easy to get around down town.

 Grand Oasis..not so grand sunwing.

Hotel was Great. This was my 3rd time there. Sunwing flight was very disapointing. Elite was not worth the money. Did not find rep at hotel honest with selling excursions.

 Grand Oasis Cancun

Our departure was delayed about two hours due to weather. On the flight down Sunwing was exceptional. In our opinion The Grand Oasis was excellent. Our room was ok nothing to rave about however it was functional and clean. I would rate it at a 3.5. Everything else was a 4.5-5. Friendly staff, clean, al-a cart restaurants were fantastic, buffet options were great, beach was clean, pool was clean, VIP lounge was great. Activities were sparse however primarily in the morning assuming before the heat. It is worth mentioning there is no nightlife partying unless you want to purchase a party package that will allow access to several nightclubs in Cancun. These were organized by Sunwing reps. We were content to stay at the resort. From all information the resort normally has approximately 500 guests however during our week there was approximately 1000 guests. This impacted al-a-cart reservations. You had to line up at 6:30 am in order to book a restaurant a day in advance only. We did however book a restaurant by stopping in at the info office on the afternoon of the 2nd for the 3rd. Apparently a number of guests had checked-out by this date. We really enjoyed the New Year’s Eve celebration on the beach. Lighted dance floor, exceptional live band, fireworks. It was a great way to bring in the new year. Express check out was smooth. We were scheduled to fly out at 2:55 however our flight was delayed by 2.5 hours for various reasons. We did not arrive in Ottawa until 10:30pm…got home around 12am. So this was a long day.

All in all we would recommend the Grand Oasis.

 Nice, but for the party crowd

The resort was beautiful, clean and lots of great places to eat. The staff were always very helpful and friendly. A lot of pools with great bar staff at the swim up bar. Not very many vendors on the beach and if they were too persistent the staff would warn them away. There was a show each night at 8, but 4/7 days was the same show.There was no variety each evening.Also, Cancun is a party town. There was no place in the resort that we could go to sit and relax that was not full of young people and their type of loud music. We usually ended up going back to the room early and sitting on the balcony. It was a little boring in the evenings.

We paid for VIP package and the only perk we felt we received was an ocean front room, which we absolutely loved! The room itself was basic, two beds, nightstand, bar fridge (which was not very cold) and a chair. We would have loved a small table and chairs in the room so that we could have played cards to pass time.

If you are young and like the party scene, you will love it at the resort. We would not visit, not only this resort, but Cancun again as it is a young party town.

 Party time

Hotel bien situé, près du centre-ville touristique de Cancun. Déplacements facile. Hotel avec ambiance festive, avec toujours de l'animation ici et la. Clientèle principalement dans la vingtaine, mais on y retrouve aussi quelques familles et des ainés. Dans le jour, il y a constamment de la musique, mais il y a moyen de se retirer un peu pour lire, du coté du Grand.

Les points forts
Ambiance festive. Bar Coyote Loco sur sur le site très bien pour terminer la journée, si on ne tient pas a sortir au centre-ville.

Les points faibles
Rouille dans le bain. Même si j'ai payé 1,750$ (occupation simple) pour être dans la pyramide, pas de vue sur la mer pour moi.

Comments: Over all, the hotel was not bad. Don’t buy the local travel packages from the hotel. If you want a day trip to Chichen Itza (or other places) buy the package from external companies. When you relax at the beach a person with a binder will approach you for these trips. Bargain with him and you will pay less than buying from within the hotel. I paid $40/person to travel to Chichen Itza. It was $89/person in the hotel!!!
Also remember to take lots of small bills of USD. Like $1 dollar bills and $5 dollar bills. No one will break USDs. You will only get Pesos back.

in our room the water from the air conditioning is leaking and when we requested something that is missing in our room we waited for 3 days before we received it, some of the wait staff are grumpy (it could be because they are overworked and understaff because the hotel is big and serving an enormous population of guests is an overwhelming tasks for them). I think they shouldn't let the guests smoke in their room or in the hotel hallways. Their entertainment is good and the beach is awesome.

 Great resort!

Grand Oasis is a beautiful resort and had a great time. There's plenty of room for families and the party-goers. The only real downside was no free wi-fi, and trying to pay and connect to the wi-fi proved to be a constant struggle.

They claim to be the entertainment resort and they are. From professional boxing on the resort to live music, they go out of their way to make sure you're having fun.

Les points faibles
Having to pay for the wi-fi and not being able to connect was frustrating. Also having to pay for the room safe was a bit of an annoyance.
