No local food? The food that we did have was hit or miss, with a lack of 24 service. Most of the restaurants and buffets where closed most of the time, this made it hard to be at the open restaurant at the specific times so you end up walking around the resort looking for somewhere to eat.
Absolutely nothing to do after dinner but sit in the lobby bar. We did visited the disgusting nightclub but had to leave after 5 minutes as we could not stand the sticky floors, vomit on the loung furniture and lack of any people and English music. The room was nice on the other hand and the house keeping was good.
We also felt like a peice of meat as volchers circled us looking for tips everywere we went. NOT WORTH the PRICE, and definitely NOT even close to A 5 STAR RESORT!! I would never recommend this resort to anyone.

This is the second time my husband and I have been to this resort and we are very pleased with this resort. I reommend getting the platinum upgrade as it is well worth the additional fees. When you are a platinum member you are treated to a villa closest to the beach which is a must as this resort is large. All of your reservations for the a la cartes are made at the platinum desk and it is very easy and they are very accomodating. No lines no fuss. At breakfast you have the option of going to the main buffett or going to the beach, for both breakfast and lunch they have a platinum section for eating and it is by far the best. You also have access to your own platinum lounge with access to the internet, premium drinks, snacks, lite food and great service. Room service is also available if you choose. You also get one dinner at the sepciality restaurant...and it is over the top. My one complaint would be the seafood restauarnt. The food is good but the service is poor. Both years we have been there at this restaurant and it is not up to par like the rest of them. The Italian, Teppanyanki, The steak house, Asian are all fantastic. A wonderful vacation.

We stayed at this resort and really enjoyed it. The staff were very friendly and helpful although if you didn't speak English some could not be much help. The beach was amazing. The food was so so, expected more for a five star. The food was pretty much the same everyday and the ala carts were not the beat. There was no reaervations for the alacarts but if you didn't go early you could be in line for an hour. The rooms were clean and everyone works very hard there. Over all great vexation but was not a five star. Also we were on our honeymoon and did not get what was seposed to be included in out package. We were seposed to get the ocean view room but they told us those rooms don't exist.

J'ai adoré ce très beau voyage à Punta Cana! Il s'agissait de ma première visite en République Dominicaine, mais de ma troisième visite dans un tout inclus ( j'ai également séjourné dans les années passées au Barcelo à Santa Clara, Cuba et au Sensatori Azul à Rivière Maya, Mexique). La nourriture était très bien, par contre j'ai mieux aimé la nourriture au buffet que dans les restaurants à la carte! Les chambres bungalow sont spacieuses et très propres. Mon coup de coeur du voyage est la plage qui est magnifique. La plus belle des trois voyages que j'ai effectués dans le Sud!

This was our third time there and we always booked Platnium. I am not sure I would enjoy the resort otherwise. Resort is huge, and very well maintained.Food is good to very good, but selection was not 5 star and didn't change throughout the week.
Rooms were clean and staff were very friendly.

En gros j'ai tout aimé, il y a seulement le secteur d'épuration de l'eau que je vous déconseille, pour le bruit et l'odeur. Les spèctacles sont bon mais pas très interactif.

Huge resort but very nice. Great service and location,beautiful gardens and amazing beach. Food was really good, lots of choices at the buffet. Went to 3 a la carte restaurants and dinners were great. Our room was close to the beach and awesome pool bar. We had a great time! :)

Terrific hotel! Beach is amazing. Reservations would be great for the restaurants. Excursion pushers can be a little annoying.

It was a nice hotel and big! The beach, pool and rooms were really nice. The food was ok and there was no late night entertainment after 10pm

I have been to the Dominican several times and it was fairly average. I did find it very loud at night time, so if you are going there to rest you may want to consider a different hotel. We originally booked a junior suite, which was a nice room, but it is extremely far from the beach, but the little buses are rather frequent. We had them upgrade us because the noise from the road and the club were way too much at the junior suite. The food was ok, it was fairly average. The japanese restaurant was closed 4 nights that we were there. The steak restaurant was great as was the chinese restaurant. The italian restaurant was terrible. As I said, it was OK, but I have been to others that are better.

Ce voyage fut agréable, cependant, les puces de lit nous ont dévorés durant notre sommeil. De plus la poussière regnait sous le lit.
Pour une raison que nous ignorons toujours, il y avait beaucoup d'insectes sur la plage. Eux aussi se sont fait un plaisir de nous dévorer.

Bavaro Princess Hotel is awesome. A la carte's were great. Our rooms were cleaned daily. Water takes a while in the morning to heat up for a shower and you have to hold the lever on the toilet for several seconds to flush. People are friendly and accommodating. The local beach is the best in the area.
Air conditioning works great. The bar fridge was always replenished. We used the coffee maker a few times and it was a nice change. We ordered room service that arrived before the 40 min time frame. The food is delicious. We found the bed comfortable. We always walked - never took the trolley that goes throughout the resort to drop off and pick up guests. There is a sewage smell at certain locations throughout the resort. They are constantly pruning the trees and sweeping and powerwashing the walk area. There is always security around the beach and the Resort itself. We went to the casino close by and it is safe and we even won :). The safari country day trip was great !! and worth the price. We had a 30 minute time limit on the local computer as we were Platinum customers. It is definitely worth the extra cash. We enjoyed our 20 minute massage on the beach. We had our own Platinum seating area on the beach. There were no bugs in the room or mosquito's at night.There was even an umbrealla in our room in case it rained. We had an ironing board and a hairdryer. We had robes and slippers. There were recline chairs on our patio. Most of our experience was positive. I usually find the entertainment a bit monotonous after the first few nights. There is a flea market down the beach 30 minutes which we bought some souvenirs. You have to remember when departing that your luggage weighs more because of Humidity !! So take less clothing - they will get you for overweight on your return !! We had to pay 10 dollar US cash entrance fee and a 20 dollar exit fee !! Bell boys at the airport and pushy - so beware....they are looking for some cash. Teachers make 7,000. a year there. Locals on resort make 10 dollars a day.

very good resort and would go back

We loved the beach, the ocean, and the surrounding gardens, as well as the large size of the room. However, our mattress was torn and dirty and we developed itchy, painful rashes from bedbugs. We had to change to a different room on the fifth day of our vacation, due to mattress and air-conditioning problems. In addition, we developed stomach pains and diarrhea just before we left.

Our experience was fantastic. The hotel was great, the staff friendly, the grounds clean. We were impressed with our room, the way the staff brought your luggage to your room, they met us with a cold drink of juice when we got off of the bus. We were able to check in quickly. The resort was quiet and peaceful when you wanted peace and quiet and noisy when you wanted to participate in noisy activities. Our room was close to the ocean, which we had asked for, it was kept clean. Our bed was rock hard and we found it very uncomfortable, but we like a soft bed. The food was great, lots of variety and plentiful. It also tasted great, you had a lot of choices of where and what to eat. We were very happy with our vacation and would go back again.

Tout était parfait, les chambres,tres belles et tres propres, les suites platinum valent le suplément.La bouffe est tres bonne, tant au buffet qu'au restaurants a la carte, mon cojoint et moi somment enchanté de notre séjour au bavaro princesse, nous n'avions pas envie de revenir a montreal. Les suites sont aussi belles ques les suites platinum mais avec les suites patinum, nous avions beaucoup d'avantages,enregistrement privé,lobby pour les platinum, internet, et plage privée, le seul petit bémol, pas assez de place sur la plage pour toute les suites platinum mais la grande plage pour les autres chambres est tres tres grande et beaucoup plus d'ambiance. Je recommande cet hotel et nous y retournerons sans hésitation.Le personnel est toujours souriant tant dans les restaurants, sur la plage, au lobby et au buffet. N'hésitez pas a réservé avec voyages internet, un service impeccable.

We had a great time. The room was like a small apartment - very clean and comfortable. Food was great and the entertainment was fabulous. We would definitely go back to this hotel.

We have travelled to Punta Cana many times and this hotel ranks near the top, a 4star .We travelled with another couple and the front desk put us beside each other in an upgraded room at no extra charge.We were 3 villas from the beach and a good 5 minute walk to the front.Our a la carte's were all very satisfactory,with no reservations required.For the price paid this is a good resort, beautiful beach and great food.

I am a little bit cautious about recommending this hotel.

Our room location was at the very begining of the resort at the main road which was very noisy with the traffic all day and night. The room was ok but needs updating and painting... The grounds were beautiful and the beach was excellent. Can walk for miles. The food was not so great. Buffet was small and ran out of certain foods fast. Staff were very friendly and spoke alot of english. Casino was fun and lots of winnings going on including myself. I would not recommend this resort for picky eaters. Not much variety to choose from but would recommend otherwise. I would not rate it as a 5 star. More like a 3 to 4 star.

Très bonne expérience. Belle suite. On a apprécié le fait que ce sont des bungalows à 8 chambres (4 en haut, 4 en bas), grand balcon, site bien entretenu, beau complexe assez immense (service de petit train), plage et mer superbes, nourriture assez bien. le seul hic vraiment pour nous, c'était le manque d'activité le jour. On ne voyait pas beaucoup l'équipe d'animation.

C'est mon 6 voyages à Punta Cana, donc je parle avec expérience.
Plutot un 4' qu'un 5'.excellente localisation,chambre merveilleuse,plage superbe(comme tout partout à Punta Cana).
La bouffe plutout correct sans plus.personnel impatient,très peux serviable.supposer avoir le service de nuit mais du tout.
Supposer avoir drinck et bouffe 24h c' est pas vrai,tout est fermer à partir de 23h30.
Mini bar rempli à moitié,eau chaude très peu.
L'esmeralda et le Ambar du Grand Bahia Principe est de loing supérieur pour le même prix croyé moi.Je ne suis pourtant pas difficile.

The Bavaro Princess was the best value-for-money resort I've been to yet. I went with 7 other friends - we paid $1296 each (taxes in). Some notes..

- the staff are friendly (easy to make friends with the bartenders)
- the resort is very clean, the landscaping is beautiful, its well maintained (stairs in our building broke, but were fixed on the same day)
- the food is great - there was great variety at the buffet including italian. They also had a taco night, and an asian night.
- the a-la-cartes were great (you don't reserve them in advance, which is good. But just make sure you get there by 6:30 to get a spot. I highly recommend the "El-Gaucho" restaurant and having T-Bone steak. Its amazing!
- the beach was beautiful but windy every day. That was expected beause its on the atlantic side.
- The resort is huge - we were staying near the reception so unless we took the shuttle, it was about a 15 min walk to the beach.
- The entertainment was great - merengue and bachata dancing almost every night. The disco in the casino was fun after mid-night as well.
- as for excursions, we did deep sea fishing and Saona Island. Deep sea fishing was as expected. Saona Island was good (you take a catamaran out, and a high speed boat back), but it took 1.5hrs to get there!

Not sure what else you would want in a vacation, but I would highly recommend this resort! I will probably be going back.....
