Great facility that has just been totally refurbished. A dedicated and hardworking staff. Very well organized with above average food choices. We had a great 1 week trip and would highly recommend the location (Adults only)

L'hotel est magnifique et la plage l'est encore plus. Les restaurents a la carte laisse un peu a désirer mais les buffets sont excellent. Le service est courtois mais pas toujours rapide (pas trop grave, on est en vacance après tout) Les lieux sont HYPER propre, de la chambre au toilettes public. Le divertisement laisse à désirer. Je le recommende pas si vous voyager seul.

Food was repetitious. Staff not overly friendly for the most part. Barcelo had a convention for their hotels while we were there, and we, as guests, became secondary to the delegates.Service was almost non existent for a few days for guests. We will probably not return to a Barcelo based on our experience there.

My husband and I chose this hotel based on reviews from itravel and Tripadvisor. We really liked that it's an adults only resort but you can go to the sister resort next door to use their amenities and try a couple of restaurants. We chose a oceanfront room in building 1 which is close to the pool, lobbby and buffet. All the buildings are really close to the beach. Our room was nice enough but the bathroom could use an update. We liked that the shower and toilet were in a separate room than the double sinks but our tub drain was slow and we ended up standing in a few inches of water when we showered. We did not inform the front desk of the problem because we were only staying a few days. We just didn't let it bother us. Housekeeping did a good job of cleaning our room and stocking our minibar. Overall, this resort is a great place to stay if you want to relax and enjoy the peace and quiet. If you want a more lively resort, stay next door at the Palace Deluxe. One last thing - my husband and I have been to several all inclusives in the Caribbean and this is the only resort doesn't allow men to wear sandals to ala cart restaurants. Our last night, he wore linen pants and shirt with leather sandals to dinner and we were not allowed to go in. He had to change. So make sure you bring shoes. They allow running shoes but not sandals.

Exactly what we were looking for - adults only, very quiet, beautiful beach, excellent food especially if you like a wide variety of seafood, spacious room, friendly helpful staff. There is a lot of activity on the ocean, just off shore from the resort, which was fun to watch.

Overall this is a wonderful resort - definitly worth more than a 4 star resort - more like a 5 star! The beach is very big, calm, very fine white sand. The food was very good, although the buffet can get somewhat repetitive (but you have 4 speciality restaurants you can also book to go to). The only downside was that this resort is so big, it doesn't feel as personal or as easy to get to know other people. The drinks were very good. THe staff was awesome. THe theatre production was generally pretty good. I'd book the bavaro beach over the barcelo bavaro deluxe side of the resort again since it's more quiet there, less crowded, no kids in the area too, and beach even more clean there. THe wifi is for $45 for the week, which is great bargain since I used it with my cell phone ( vonage app) to make free calls back to home (canada).

revenons tout juste d'une tres belle semaine au Barcelo Bavaro beach club section adulte. Avons choisi la formule club Premium et ca valait vraiment le supplément...à refaire sans hésiter!

Rénové,superbe plage avec beaucoup de chaise.Adultes seulement.Ombre grâce aux palmiers.Très tranquille sauf pour les activites moteur sur l'eau.Pour l'action l'accès au Barcelo Deluxe avec ses magasins,théâtre,sport bar et casino (24hrs)mini golf etc.

In every way possible the hotel was above my expectations. The rooms were large and exceptionally clean. The property was also very clean, and at least once a day there was a crew of people out on the beach with rakes etc. cleaning. the quality of the food was fantastic. This was our best vacation ever.

All in all great resort just some minor draw backs adults only no swim-up bar,no snack bar by the pool, no beach bar. But all in all had a great time.

Excellent endroit, accueil supérieur, la plage est propre et il ne manque pas de chaises. Les restaurants sont également très bons. Vaut la peine de prendre les chambres face à la mer pour le service Vip qui accompagne ce choix

We were moved to Barcelo Bavaro Premium because of overbooking. The hotel was lovely and we were close to everything. Room was cleaned wonderful and quickly. When we asked for anything it was tended to quickly.

Travelled with a girlfriend and we both have been to Punta Cana several times. We love the PC weather and beaches. We had a good vacation, but would probably choose another hotel in the future. We had a standard (superior) room, garden view.

THE GOOD - Adults only. Absolutely no children around, they are all over in the Palace location. Shuttle service between the Palace and Beach convenient. Down to the beach by 8:30-9:00 am each day and no problems getting a beach chair. (Can't say the same for the pool chairs - all the chairs under the awmings, they are gone by 7:30 am) While it is at an extra cost, the resort's Spa is fantastic. The prices are in US and for $200 we got a 100 min treatment - body scrub, massage and facial. I highly recommend this. You can go earlier and/or stay longer and enjoy the sauna, turkish bath and private pool and loungers. Hotel staff are all very friendly.

THE COULD BE IMPROVED:

FOOD - Food at the buffet was the same each day - breakfast, lunch and dinner. Was surprised that dinner didn't have theme nights. Food was average. Service at the buffet was spotty. Doesn't matter which meal, beverage service is slow and sporadic. Servers are very friendly, but they probably need some re-organization. They all looked busy, but there were always tables that needed clearing, setting up and guests that needed coffee or water. Water glasses were small, combined with slow water service, combined with hot weather - Ug. Free restaurants - here is my review - Sante Fe Steak House - pass on it - They do not know how to cook steak and quality of meat is poor. Coral Seafood - not bad, but service is very very slow. La Brisa - best restaurant - food and service very good. La Gourmet - average food and service.

ROOM - All the rooms are within a short walking distance to the beach. The beds were comfortable and the sheets were REALLY soft. Small plasma TV. Very few English channels. If you have a laptop or IPAD, bring a HDMI cable and if you have Netflix, you can stream your own movies. You can purchase WIFI access fro $45 US for the week - I thought that was a very good price. Room cleaning was good, but there wasn't 1 day when the cleaner forgot something - one day the coffee & creamers, one day face cloths, one day water and it goes on and on from there. Bath tub / Shower - tub looked older than the 3 years that this part of the resort. Narrow for showering. It worked, but wasn't great.

BAD - we got there at 9:30pm and the hotel tried to change our reservations and "upgrade" us to the Palace Deluxe and it took a while for them to realize we weren't switching and to get our room. So we were not happy on our first day of vacation. Not the best way to start a vacation!
GOOD - Once we got our room, it was the perfect spot, near the beach and pool with a king size bed that was so comfortable.
GOOD - The hotel is newly furnished with great sitting areas around the hotel, lobby and pool! Very impressive.
GOOD - Food was very decent, with variety and very tastey. The a la cartes were great and very "gourmetish"
GOOD - Beach was nice with new beach chairs but there are sea urchins in the water so just be careful.
BAD - there are mounds of seaweed that is not cleaned up daily and kinda a sore sight.
GOOD - Staff are friendly and polite but not too tentative for drinks.
BAD - Beach towels are a mix between new and old.
GOOD - Our maid was amazing and so tentative to all our needs!
BAD - Everything at the hotel is really expensive so if you want to do any actual shopping, go to town, the cost of a cab there and bad will be a cost savings compared to whats at the hotel.
GOOD - Lots of french speaking guests so the staff speak french, if your french speaking.
BAD - Lots of boats going back and forth during the day if that is something that would bother you.

Nous avons adoré!Super hotel, tout était parfait j'y retournerai demain matin! Nous avons beaucoup apprécié les petit extras d'être dans le club privilège...a conseiller. Premier hotel 18 ca vaut vraiment la peine.Il n'y a pas de swim up bar dans la piscine du beach et vous devez aller au Palace pour la pluspart des restaurants et pour les spectacles de fin de soirée, mais c'est juste l'hotel à côté. Si ce serait a refaire je réserverai quand même au Barcelo beach l'hotel est plus beau et le service plus personnalisé.

We were very pleased with our trip. The resort was wonderful and the staff were very accommodating. We will more than likely go south again and maybe even back to the Barcelo Bavaro Beach.

Nous sommes très satisfait de cet hôtel. Bouffe excellente, plage magnifique, service impeccable, bons restaurants à la carte. 2ième séjour dans un Barcelo et nous sommes toujours très satisfait. Seul élément négatif, le bain laisse à désirer.

Barcelo Bavaro Beach (adults only) récemment rénové est situe a l’est du grand réseau Barcelo Bavaro de Luxe. La proximité et l’accès aux tous les restaurants et les facilites (gym, terrains de tennis, terrain de golf, discothèque, casino, immense salle de spectacle, médecin sur place 24 heures, boutiques, etc.) du grand réseau, donnent l’impression à avoir beaucoup plus qu’un 4 étoile même avec un tarif de base. Partout les endroits sont très propre, la nourriture bonne vers très bonne et les services courtois et efficients. Après quelque voyage à Cuba (4.5 et 5 étoiles) on est très satisfaits de notre choix.

Superbe vacance pour les couples. surtout en classe Club Premiun.

Endroit de rêve

Plus le temps avançait et plu nous regrettions notre choix pour plusieurs petits facteurs, comme le manque de choix de resto sur notre site, le bruit sur la plage (hélicoptères,bateaux),
l'animation 2/10, la musique 'loundge' à la piscine très très très redondente bref un peu de tout!apres avoir connu le Ambar celui-ci à plus l'air d'un 31/2 Max plutot que d'un 4 étoiles!
Allez au Ambar vous en serai ravis!!

j'étais dans la section adulte c'est plus tranquille pour manger sans entendre les enfants crier,tu peut marché beaucoup sur le complexe meme si il pleut car tu as toujours un toit au dessus des trottoirs partout ou tu va !pour la musique c'est seulement du classic et j'aurais aimé entendre de la musique du sud !

Je recommence cette hôtel à tous car c'est un endroit de rêve seul les spectacle qui manque de vie et que le personnel ne parle pas français il faut répéter la propreter est partout et l hôtel est très sécuritaire je donne la note de 9,5 sur 10

A great trip overall, trip to Soana was very nice getway for the trip. Highly recommended but be aware of upselling while your on the beach for photos/videos. Other than that food is great and safe to eat.

À part le bain, la chambre est très bien. Le personnel est courtois, gentil et sympathique. Tous les bâtiments sont bien situés, près de la plage. La plus belle plage du secteur.
