Greeted by friendly staff at check-in. Quick and efficient. Room adequate and clean.Would not rate this as a 5 star hotel but rather a 4 at the best. No problems encountered.

It was a good hotel for what you pay.the beach is good just swimming pool is a litle bit small for that number of rooms,the staff are very good and friendly.

Cosy resort, a little dated but well kept and excellent staff. You dont get lost here like you do at some of the bigger resorts where you are just a room number.

The service was great,the hotel staff were wonderfull the place was very clean. The big let down was my wifes wedding ban was stolen on the first day from our room that made it very disapointing, and the fact that Sunwing changed our flights which made our 7 day vacation into a 5 day vacation

excellent property, all public areas on the beach.
the palm trees on the beach rather than the palapas spread the guests out. lots of chairs at both the beach and pools, no need to get up at 6 am to reserve your spot. food was good, lots of variety. The entertainment was the best we have ever seen at any other resort.

We are a couple of senior gals..Upon arriving at our hotel after a lengthly trip from Toronto which was delayed due to bad weather, the front desk informed us there was no more room available and we had to be bumped to a less standard hotel. We tried to argue this and it was to no avail. They shipped us off in a cab to the Hotel Naiboa for 1 night. We were unconsolable. This is not acceptable. We were terribly upset and it took us three days to settle in and try to forget the situation. No apology was made from the manager. No compensation, NOTHING. And it also happened to other guests but they refused and they did NOT have to stay elsewhere And they got an apologey and a gift was sent to their room!!! How do you explain that we had to be moved, unpack some of our belongings and pack up the next morning. This is not professional and inconsiderate. I expect to hear from you with an explanation about this terrible mishap. IT WAS HORRIBLE!

Loved the Hotel and Grounds. Staff were friendly. Rooms Great. Beds are very hard I think its time for Riu to get some new matresses.

We thoroughly enjoyed our week at Riu Bambu. Staff from the maid service to bartenders and front desk were all very friendly, helpful and did not have their hand out for a tip although we did tip frequently due to the high level of service. Only one complaint, no coffee machine in the room so had to go to the restaurant first thing for my morning cup of coffee. Also, you can't use your Calling Card, Canada Direct 1-800 numbers don't work from the hotel.

This hotel was one of five all linked together and apparently towards the bottom of the heap. No major complaints however compared to other resorts we have stayed at in the same area we would not return. The pool was extremely small for the size of the resort however the beach made up for it. Once you found the disco 2 hotels over, you had to pay for drinks. The shows for kids were really great and the food was good. We had two small kids and were somewhat annoyed by having no porch light to read at night on the balcony while they slept.

The hotel and grounds were well kept. It was very pretty walking from our room to the other areas of the resort. The beach was gorgeous - lots of white sand which was well maintained.

We stayed 10 years ago as a 5 star hotel.
We stayed 4 years ago at best as a 3 star hotel.
We stayed Jan.20-27.12 as "just" a 5 star hotel.
Bathrooms could be larger and tubs should be showers. Eliminate the pouches of bath gel and shampoo and replace with hanging dispensers.
Less amenities at the beach than we recall...bar, food, etc.
Beach is one of the best in Punta Cana!!!

Nous avons étés bien accueillis, n'avons pas étés harassés par les vendeurs de souvenirs ou de condos. Nous avons très bien mangé,grande variété de nourriture bien apprêtée. Le Dive centre est devenu notre quartier général.y passer notre brevet de plongée fut une très belle expérience,sans faire mention des catamaran et sportyak facilement disponibles. plage de rêve et assez de chaises pour deux hotels. longues marches possibles des deux cotés. personnel courtois mais parfois un peu trop familier. Mais c'est ça la République.Support logistique de Sunwing formidable.Accès pour gens à mobilité réduite.Disposition des corridors de chambre mal conçue. (acoustique)Mais avec seulement 3 voisins de palier, ça reste un détail.En conclusion,nous recommandons cet hôtel.

This was our first trip to the Riu Bambu. It was very clean and well maintained. Staff was great and very entertaining. Always lots to do. Beach was kept clean with lots of loungers. Food was excellent many choices on the buffet. We will definitely go back. Great resort!

Great place,worth the money!

The hotel is showing it's age, it is rated at 5 stars but in reality it is a 3 or 3.5 star hotel. TV and the safe did not work, it took 2 days to fix it. for a 5 star hotel quite a disappointment

Expectation was that it was a five star hotel, as advertised everywhere and it was at best a three star. There were five RIU hotels on this compound and clearly the other three were 5 star, this one was not.

hotel was great other than the beds were very hard. Food was awesome and staff was great.

Very nice resort but 5 star may be pushing it a bit.

I had friends who had previously stayed at this resort and recommended it and it met all of my expectations. I will return again next year there are a number of us planning to go to Cuba to celebrate a 60th birthday and I am definitely recommending that we explore one of the Riu properties in Cuba. I will also make a bigger effort to participate in all of the activities offered..... I just sat around too much but the animacion team was AMAZING..... GREAT JOB

Nice and clean, hospitable staff, good food but HORRIBLE drinks. Vine was undrinkable, while all drinks other than rums wer fake. It was funny to taste cherry-like Balantines or Johny Walker.
Beatiful beach and above expectations nightly entertainment.

Hotel room nice, beach exemplary, we boooked so late they did not have our reservation and did not know how to handle that. But, biggest thing - If you are a wine drinker do not come here! the house wines are undrinkable and there is no option to get decent wine!

The hotel surpassed what I expected from the reviews.. I expected the food to be awful and it was not that bad... For some reasons the deserts were excellent.. The resort was a good size and the entertainment by far was the best about that resort. The beach was really nice as you can walk either way for a long time.. The downside about Punta Cana is the wind & waves on the beach... It was always very wavey with big under toes which prevented you from seeing the clear water or swimming very much in the ocean but the pools were great for that... The staff were great and very energetic and talented with the activities and shows... The male workers on the resort need to chill out a bit on hitting on your girl every time you are away from her side.. It gets a little annoying after a while... Overall, I would recommend this as a good value for the money...

Tres beau voyage.Nous avons eu de belle temperature,L,hotel etait tres propre,le service acceptable,plage magnifique,la bouffe bonne mais pas tres variee.Chambre propre mais bruyante tres echo dans les passages pour les restaurants a la carte avis au leve tard apres 7:30 plus de place disponible en gros nous avons aimer notre voyage.

The resort is very nice. The only issue is the beds. They are as hard as a rock. Food is good, plenty of selection. Hotel staff are great. Don't always have their hands out for a tip but are very appreciative when they recieve one. All in all a great trip. Different beds would have made it outstanding.

The beach here is absolutely amazing. Perfect soft white sand with lots of beautiful palm trees if you want shade. Ocean is great for swimming, clean sandy bottom with no rocks. Can take nice long walks on the beach. Resort is well kept, they work very hard to keep it clean. Rooms are nice, bathrooms are clean. Pool is great. They have a swim bar with music playing and lots of activities run by a very friendly & energetic entertainment staff on one side and more quite smaller pool on the other. Staff was very friendly. One downside of the resort was the food- it was edible but nothing to look forward too. A la carte restaurants where no better than buffet. Food got pretty repetitive and boring. One day they had a BBQ by the beach- that was good. Go for the beach, the pool, the staff and the cleanliness but don't expect much from the food. No complaints about the drinks though. Mixed drinks at bars and in room liquor and beer, water & pop in mini fridge was great. 24/7 sports bar so we could watch the final four championships was nice too.
