This was my second time returning to this hotel having traveled there in 2008. Absolutely love this hotel and chose to go back there for birthday celebration. My bedroom was decorated with balloons and cake and champagne were provided. Nice touch!

The rooms are phenomenal and the housekeeping staff do a great job cleaning rooms and providing pillow service with chocolates and the next day's activities.

Ample towels available at the beach or pool everyday and no towel cards required. No issues finding chairs to sit on although we tended to sit at the beach. The pool area seemed to be full most days by 9 am.

All restaurants are terrific, although personal favorites are the Asian and French. Wait staff are attentive and service is quick and never rushed. Bottled water available in room and at all bars tastes just like bottled water in Toronto. No issues with the water. Also drank the water poured into glasses in the restaurants with no issues.

Evening entertainment is great and different to other all-inclusives in Cuba or Dominican Republic. The Micheal Jackson show and Mexican night are not to be missed.

Excellence staff go out of their way with the little details that make a vacation unforgettable.

Loved this place, will go back in a heart beat.

First time at Excellence Playa Mujeres. Went to Excellence Riviera Cancun in 2010 & 2011. Very impressed with both resorts; Playa Mujeres slightly better than Riviera Cancun in most categories except for the beach and lunch menu, which I preferred at Riviera Cancun. The resorts are so similar that in the future I would use price to guide my decision on which resort to go back to again; if Playa Mujeres is only $200/person/week more I would go there again but if the price differential exceeds that amount I would choose the less expensive Riviera Cancun.

A wonderful vacation at a beautiful resort. The service was fabulous, the food was very good and the room was well appointed and very clean.

This was my 4th visit to an Excellence resort but my first at this particular one. We've always gotten superb service at Excellence which is why we keep returning. If you want or need anything, you just ask and they get it for you (with a smile).
We loved the rooms at this resort. The balcony has a table, two chairs and a very comfy bed with lots of pillows. The round jacuzzi at the front of the room, was great. The grounds are immaculate. Lots of food choices. The beach is a bit small. The pools are super clean, but a bit chilly during the winter months. There is one heated pool. The shows are fun, with the Michael Jackson being my favorite. The staff are very professional and friendly. We were there over New Years and the resort was at 100% occupancy.
We like to relax, read, and soak up the sun when on the vacation. We found that difficult to do this trip as there was lots of younger (and a few older) party people. Lots of drunk wooohooing and such. Loud, boisterous. It may not always be like this at other times.
This resort is located a bit far from everything. Overall, it was a great vacation and I'd go back here in a heartbeat.

Pleasantly suprised with the courtesy of the staff, the Hotel amenities available, the cleanliness of the rooms and the varied culinary foods that were offered. Great hotel to visit.

L"hôtel porte vraiment son nom, Excellent !!! une coche en haut des 2 autres , celui de la Riviera Maya et Punta Cana, pour la chambre, le service , les 9 restos,spectacles mais pas la plage pleine d'algues..Ils avaient beau les ramasser,1hre après il y en avait autant !! Mais la suprprise a été qu' on pensait qu'il se situait sur l'île Isla Mujeres,mais non, c'est en face de l'île,au nord de Cancun près de Puerto Juarez. Il n'y avait pas de navette pour se rendre à Cancun ni au ferry pour Isla Mujeres,ni de bateau qui part de l'hôtel à l'île. Mon mari y allait pour la plongée à Isla Mujeres...La température a été très froide et venteuse en début de voyage les 3 premiers jours de fin novembre début décembre.

Our hotel room-keys were not working at about 12pm on the date we were supposed to check out. Prior to that we have talked and confirmed the late check-out time till 3pm. Finally, a hotel staff opened our room, our lock-box was fully opened. We were so worry but thanks God, our Passports and cash seemed all were there. However,when we got back to Toronto, we realized that we are missing a Visa card and a banking access card.

Un mot: Exceptionnel!!!!

Hôtel à recommander malgré les petits irritants mentionnés plus bas. Après une semaine on se disait qu'on reviendrait mais après la 2ème semaine on pense découvrir un autre hôtel pour les prochaines vacances.

Our rooms were very clean and comfortable, especially the outdoor bed on the balcony! The resort itself is lush with many pools so you can always find a poolside lounger. The service everywhere was excellent, always friendly and efficient. We found the whole property very neat and clean. Our main drawbacks were the beach and the remote location of the resort. The services at the beach were very good and it was powdery white sand but unfortunately to get in the water meant wading through quite a bit of seeweed and we also found the color of water was not the beautiful turquoise that we had in the hotel zone (more rocks than sand?) The shopping in the hotel was almost nonexistant and what was there was quite expensive which meant at least one trip into town ($45 return cabfare). There are three guarded gates to drive into the resort so we felt very safe and secure. We would definately recommend the resort to friends and family.

Excellence Playa Mujeres is definitely a beautiful and awesome resort to stay in

Wonderful place just 30 minutes from the airport. We would highly recommend a room with a roof top terrace if you are looking for a quiet vacation. The beach is beautiful but going into the water requires wading through the water for about 10 feet through see grass. If you are like us and usually stick to swimming in the pool it wont bother you.The food is great, some better than others. I would highly recommend Basmatti and Spice.We will definately be back.

Presque tout a été parfait à l'Excellence Playa Mujeres. Seul un problème récurrent d'algues et de bruit sur la plage à mis un bémol sur mes vacances.

THe resort is awesome. Great food, location, spa, and beach. No complaints. We went to relax and the resort is perfect for that.

A dream come true

This hotel is fabulous. From the staff to the service it is above and beyond any I have experienced. It is fairly quiet but is a wonderful vacation to relax and enjoy the food, drink and sunshine.

Overall a nice place but given we booked as far in advance as we did, we were very disappointed with the location of the room - not very private. Food is good but I would say their standard of service has slipped - not sure if they have reduced staff but it was noticeable.

This is truly a first class resort. Great location, friendly cooperative staff, and a clean well planned facility. We read several reviews and found none of the percieved faults listed by other visitors. A little bit of tip money goes a long way!

We have no negative comments. The place was excellent in every way.

Second visit to this hotel, showing age in some areas and relative to 5* rating/price in need of selective maintenance and better cleaning (bar counter tops, bathroom shower). Overall very nice resort, excellent selection of good resturants/food, staff very helpful and friendly.

C'est un magnifique endroit qui a su inculquer à son personnel l'importance du service à la clientèle. Excellente bouffe, chambres magnifiques et l'ensemble des installations très propres et attrayantes.

Cet hôtel est vraiment un 5 étoiles. Tout est parfait de l'accueuil au départ. Les chambres sont belles et propres. Pas beaucoup de québecois, à notre arrivée nous étions seuls pour cet hôtel et nous avons eu droit à un transport privé. La moyenne d'âges est d'environ 35 ans.La nourriture est de qualité et le service est exceptionnel. L'endroit se compare avec le Royal Playa del Carmen ou le Valentin. Allez-y en toute confiance

This Hotel is amazing. The service is incredible from the maids to the concierge. All the bartenders, waiters and waiters were there to service the guests. The drinks and the food were all premium. The rooms were really, really nice and immaculate.

Spent one week at this great resort but would have gladly spent all summer. The white sand beach is gorgeous and very long. The water is blue and the waves are gentle. Resort has many restaurants so the food does not get repetitive. A la carte dining for all meals, if you prefer. Wonderful and luxurious rooms with comfortable beds. Maid service twice a day. Room service is included. Many pools. Relaxing lazy river.

Second time at an Excellence resort.Well worth the money. Food, service, room, all excellent. Would go back.

Beautiful resort with VERY friendly staff. I spent a week there with my wife and we had an amazing time. Food is just great. Resort and rooms are very well kept and clean. I would definitely go back to this resort if I want to go to Cancun again.
