 Ain't it just grand

We stayed at ibero grand for 2 weeks feb4 to feb 18 2012 The resort is breathtakingly beautiful the pool huge no jocking for room at all. Pool beds ample out of the 14 days we got a covered cabanna pool side bed everyday and no we did not creep down in the dark we got it at 830 am when we went for breakfast each day.We have travel twice a year and been to this area of mexico 8 times but we found at this resort the staff where AMAZING they stood out above all other all inclusives we been too. We where in a oceanfront room week one and oceanfront corner jacuzzi suite week two both the tops. Our butlers in both these buildings where so nice atentive and so genuinally helpful. The food was really good tons of variety, can't complain about anything in any of the restaurants. Since we where there for two weeks we tried some of the restaurants in the adjoining hotels that are included and really once you have seen them and ate at them you realize just to stay at your own hotel. The beach we are big walkers and we walked an hour in either direction, we felt safe although of course some beach ares are not that clean once you pass your resort. PS. while doing this I fell on some rocks in the ocean and broke my arm so I had a cast the whole second week. My fault, but my experience was great when i got back our buttler got me an ice pack and after several jours I choose to see the hotel onsight DR. who told me he was sure it was broken he did this with no charge he bandaged me up made the appropriate calls and paper work called me a cab and we where on are way to Cancun hospital where the cab driver stayed with us then took us to pharmacy and back to hotel. What a event but the hotel took care of that well beyond what we thought they would. please go to this hotel you will not be dissappointed we loved it all even the last week with the full cast on.

 Outstanding!

My wife and I, mid 50's, do travel extensively throughout the world. This was a beach holiday, booked and researched through the internet. It more than met our expectations for food, service, location, cleanliness. Entertainment was as good as cruise ships if not better. Food much better than ships and choice of standard wines and spirits was very large and brand names. Great beach, numerous activities throughout day. Love to go back.

 A lovely 2 Weeks

A fabulous resort that was a pleasure to be at for 14 days. Many Many good points and a few weaknesses but all in all Fantastic. Great staff, great food, exceptionally clean. A few faults but not really worth mentioning. This is a couples resort though, travelled alone but met lots of great people. I will go back!!

AMAZING ( But some things you should know)

First off... this place is beautiful and the food is AMAZING!!! I would absolutely recommend this place to everyone I know.
However, there are a few things you need to know before going to this hotel.
#1: The concierge/Butler service is absolutely useless, so don't expect much from them. They are pretty much a middle man for all your requests and will "pass the buck" most of the time.
#2: You can make reservations at the A la Carte restaurants on the website... you MUST do this prior to your trip or do not expect to get in (But, we never had a reservation. We just told them the concierge were supposed to book it but didn't. We got in every time).
#3: IMPORTANT: The water in the buffets is tap water!! All the water going into the hotel is filtered, but it is not filtered as much as bottled water. My Husband got sick. The Restaurants will give you bottled water, but the buffets serve you water from a silver jug. DON'T drink it!!!

 Amazing

Everything was fantastic. I've stayed at the Iberostar Grand in Montego Bay 6 times and this place is on a higher scale. I almost fell over when I arrived and walked around. The staff is great. Mexico could teach a few places like Jamaica how to properly service tourists. Small things like having fresh figs at the buffet and the outdoor bbq every day near the pool (fantastic) are nice add ons. Already planning for 2 weeks in November.

 A TRUE FIVE STAR RESORT

This is my sixth time at this very resort and have been to other Mayan Riveria resorts over 20 times. This resort is by far the best in this area. Most guests there are repeat guests who absolutely love the level of service that the Grand has to offer.

 Loved The Grand

My husband and I and a couple of friends were at the IGP from Nov 14-21 2010 for a special anniversary celebration. The resort occupancy rate was 50-60% while we were there. This was our first trip to the Grand and our first experience with the Iberostar chain. We emailed the resort 2 weeks before our arrival to book our tee times and a la carte reservations. The resort returned our email prompty and gave us our requested times. We had a fun filled vacation filled with lots of activities, food and drinks. We were impressed with every aspect of the resort.
The grounds- beautiful and elegant. I like the fact that the Grand is one of 5 Iberostar resorts in one area. I explored all 5 resorts and thought they were all unique in their own way. I would consider going to any of the other 4 resorts with my family.
The room- beautiful and clean. We loved the comfortable bed. The minibar was well stocked everyday with the drinks we requested. The room was quiet for the most part. We did hear the upstairs people walking around in heels late at night. The internet worked well and we were able to stay in touch with our kids back home.
Butler- we met our butler on the first day we were there. We did not see the butler again for the rest of our stay. I did not miss him as I did not need him for anything. But I noted that there is a call button on the phone for the butler.
Food- we were impressed with the variety and quality of food. I love seafood and had my fill of fish, lobster, shrimps and prawns. My husband had steak a couple of times and had an issue with the steak being under done. The problem was quickly rectified. We ate at all of the a la carte restaurants and enjoyed them all. We ate at the Mexican and International dinner buffets and found them to be good as well.
Golf- my husband loves to golf. He was very happy that my 2 rounds of free golf were transferable to him. He golfed 4 times and raved about the course. We were impressed that there was not an additional cost for the golf cart (like other AIs). My hubby commented that the toasted sandwiches served on the course were very tasty. He golfed at 7AM and was back at the Grand by 11AM.
Service- some staff were more friendly than others but all were professional and curteous. Room service was always on time. We appreciated and tipped for good service. On our last night at the resort we went to the lobby bar and had a great time chatting with Daniel the bartender and other guests. Daniel kept the drinks coming!
Star friends- they were friendly and personable. We participated in many activities such as bike tour, volleyball, water volleyball, water aerobics, spin class and yoga. The Star friends were great in leading the activities. I enjoyed the spin class with Eder and Fania. I'm not really into yoga but I had a good session with Luigi. In the evening the Star friends would chat and mingle with guests. They would tell guests about the show of the night and encourage them to attend.
Drinks- we were impressed with the choices for red, white and sparkling wine. We had fun trying a different red wine at every dinner. My husband enjoyed a few Grey Goose and soda. He found the drinks to be strong and not watered down. Before this trip I did not like mojitos but I found the mojitos to be very good at the Grand. The strawberry margarita was a bit disappointing as the flavour tasted artificial.
Shows- I did not watch many shows as I was usually too tired by show time. What I did see of the shows I enjoyed. The theatre is elegant and grandiose and the service from the wait staff was excellent.
Beach- we spent alot of time on the beach. The sand is fine and lovely. We walked to Maroma beach once. I would say the walk took us 25 minutes. Maroma beach is nice but I am not sure why it is rated as one of the best beaches in the world.
In conclusion, we thoroughly enjoyed our time at the grand. The resort was the perfect place to celebrate our anniversary. We thought we got great value for the price we paid especially considering the rounds of golf that were included. We would recommend the Grand to family and friends. We still think about the Grand often and would love to go back...hopefully in the near future.

 Wow, What a Great Holiday

Loved this resort. We went in November when the prices were low and the value can't be beat. Excellent service in the both the buffet and ala carte restaurants. I never had a problem finding something delicious to eat. At lunch we ordered from a menu that included steak tenderloin, lobster and shrimp fajitas. The waiters in all the restaurants kept your water glass full and they would make me as many lattes as I wanted all day long.
We really enjoyed the Star Friends and we found them very friendly and not at all pushy. We are active people and we participated in the Spin Class everyday. We also did Yoga, Water Volleyball, Bike Ride, Air Guns and Water Aerobics.
The alcohol is premium quality and we liked hanging around in the Lobby Bar with Daniel the bartender. The staff are quite fluent in english and I never had a problem communicating with them.
This resort is connected to 4 other Iberostars and we could use all of their facilities also. I like to walk and I would go for long walks through these resorts. They are all connected and sometimes you don't even know which resort you are in.
We like to continually try new places BUT we have decided that we will return to this resort next fall because we liked it so much.

 First class all the way

Beautiful hotel. From the minute you enter into the hotel lobby up to the time you are leaving, one is still looking around and finding different objects of beauty and quality of which pictures should have been taken.

We were upgraded to an ocean view room on the top floor. Our room was exactly as depicted on the hotel web site. The balcony was huge and totally private. The beds were the most comfortable we have ever slept in. Not only did we enjoy the nightly turn down but also the fact that the room was tidied up once again. The scented candle was also a nice touch.

We had tnought that butler service might be a bit over the top for us. Not so. Having the butler must take quite a lot of pressure off the front desk. Anything we needed, we would just phone our butler and usually within less than 10 minutes whatever we requested was seen to.
Food: On a scale of 1 to 10, we would give the food an 8 (10 being the highest). We are garlic and hot pepper lovers, which isn't to everyone's taste. As we spent 14 nights at the hotel and the main buffet was closed in the evenings, we had to split our dining between the Gormet, Surf and Turf and Italian restaurants (we don't like Japanese food so avoided that restaurant). The quality of the filets, rib eyes, veal and lamb was absolutely top grade. Rare, medium rare, medium well, all requests came cooked to perfection.
We split our days sitting either around the salt water pool, the tranquility pool and the beach. It was a tough decision deciding which pool to sit around.
The hotel's theatre is magnificent. I imagine its probably what they do in Vegas with comfortable chairs around tables tiered all around the theatre. We only went to two shows as 10 p.m. starting time was a little late for us. The two shows we did see were very good.
Service: The hotel staff, from the Porters to the front desk, bar service, restaurants, pool side, beach front, maid service, butler, absolutely fantastic. Everything done with a smile and with great efficiency.

 Paradis

 Iberostar Paraiso Grand

Our stay at the Iberostar Paraiso Grand was fabulous. All the features of the resort- accommodations, dining, staff were beyond our expectations and surpass any of the other resorts we have stayed at. Our room had his and hers bathrobes, slippers, sinks and closets. The staff were polite, friendly and attentive to making our stay enjoyable. We even had our personal butler.
The dining in the a la carte restaurants rivals that of any North American restaurants. Breakfast and lunch in the buffet restaurant were also superb-where else can you get quail eggs for lunch. The grounds and even the public washrooms were immaculately maintained. There was even computers with free internet access available. As an adults only resort, we appreciated our privacy and guests did not feel crowded. Our only regret is that our stay was too short.
