Visited this resort many times and never disappointed.The resort is kept very clean and beach is great. Staff are very good and attentive to your needs. Management is seen around the resort and open to suggestions. Food is good. Some shortages but still lots to eat.

Très bel hôtel bien situé au milieu de la ville tout a été parfait pendant nos 5 jours dans ce complexe, qui a deux bâtiments séparés, un dans la partie coloniale et c'est juste en face des plus beaux bâtiments de la ville, c'est le théâtre et le parc central de la ville. De la terrasse de la piscine, vous pouvez également voir toutes les vues de la ville. Ses deux bâtiments sont juste à côté l'un de l'autre, communiqués par une jolie galerie. Dans le hall du bâtiment moderne, il y a un restaurant "Havana Elegante" qui est une spécialité de riz "paella espagnole" mais ils ont aussi différents bons plats bien cuisinés et bien présentés. Nous recommandons la suite dans le bâtiment colonial 443 avec son immense terrasse et sa vue imprenable sur le Capitolio et le Park Central. C'était tellement beau et grand, chaque détail était comme nous l'espérions et plus encore, un service de chambre 24 heures sur 24 chaque fois que vous appelez, vous obtenez ce que vous voulez directement dans la chambre et c'est tout simplement incroyable pour des vacances parfaites. Nous remercions sans aucun doute tous les employés de ce grand hôtel Iberostar !!! Nous espérons revenir bientôt et passer encore un bon moment ici.

What makes people come back to this hotel is their staff This was our 6 or 7 time at this resort not even sure anymore but staff are now family. You never have to wait for beach or pool chairs. Their beach is beyond amazing. White sand that feels like baby powder. Restaurant are all a la carte but this does not mean you can't go for seconds. Rooms are a bit outdated but super clean. Resort is small and cozy

The front desk staff were friendly and efficient upon arrival. Would have liked a refreshing drink upon arrival. The room was beautiful- large in size and the bed was unbelievably comfortable. Bathroom again was large however I didn't have hot water in the shower for half of my vacation. There was hot water in the bathroom sink but not the shower. What can I say about the beach - it's the reason for going. However there was chair reservations going on as early as 5:30am. I read this online so I went at 6am to secure an umbrella as I cannot sit in direct sun for hours and hours - this was annoying as most chairs were never even used even though they were reserved. Can't speak to the evening shows as I didn't see any. Was up early for shade so I couldn't stay up too late. The food - in the buffet was a fair selection - always seemed to have roast pork available which was amazing. You wouldn't go hungry. Snack bar is by the beach and have hamburger, sandwich and pizza. The a la cartes (There's 5 of which you can reserve 3). I enjoyed the ones I went to, international, Asian and elite. Alcohol variety isn't what it used to be before Covid but there's beer, rum, wine and tequila. The wifi was spotty at best.

It was a long 5 years since we have been to the Blau, and we were very happy to get back to it after Covid delays. We have been to Cuba 10 times, 5 to the Blau. We always compared the other hotels to the Blau and have decided that future trips will be only to the Blau. It is always the staff that makes the biggest difference. It is a very nice and clean hotel, the bars and restaurants are top notch (considering the current shortages they are doing a great job) and the pool area and beach are fantastic. As I said before, it is the staff that make it #1 in our opinion. From the kitchen, the grounds keepers, reception, customer relations, housekeeping, bar tenders and wait staff, they make it feel like coming home. Many have been there since it opened, and we have known them since our first visit there in 2010. We are already planning our next trip in 2024.

Its was great in every sense. Beach, food, cleanliness,staff, restaurants were great and most important the beach best one the strip of varadero. I did almost all the hotels and this spot is the best. Dont rely on people that say shortages and none of this or that. Granted they had no sprite big deal but everything else was amazing i rate it a 10 and will definitely go back.

I recently visited Playa Pilar for the first time with my friend and it was absolutely amazing. The beaches are so beautiful - one of my favourite beaches i've ever visited by far! The rooms, beaches, and resort are very well maintained and super clean. The staff are all so nice and caring. Yenia is so sweet, and made us feel very welcome and comfortable at the resort. During our stay i developed a heat rash, and Yenia got aloe vera to help with my rash! Mary, Darrien, Babo, and Dennis also made a huge impact on my experience at the resort. They are all so fun, energetic, and inviting. I will defiently be visiting this beautiful resort again, and i cant wait to meet all the amazing friends i made at the resort again! :)

I travelled to the Melia International April 29 to May 6. It was my first time at this resort, and definitely will not be my last, as I have already booked again for two weeks June 15-29. I knew while I was on resort I would be booking another trip right away when I got home. The resort is very modern with a cosmopolitan feel. It is well laid out with all of the restaurants except one and the same area on the ground floor and all the shops are also located on the ground floor. My room was on the sixth floor with a fabulous ocean front view. The room was large and very comfortable. The bed and the pillows provided a great nights sleep. The shower is large and has two rain showers. One on each end. There is a hairdryer and amenities in the bathroom. Thanks so much to the staff from sales office Nelido Casay and Mari the Community Manager that helped witj everything and assisted in my requests and suggestions as well as worried about my stay every day which made it exceptional in every way. I celebrated my birthday there and they made it unforgettable for me!! I ate at two of the a La carte restaurants in and both of them were fantastic. Sensum would be my favourite and they made my birthday dinner amazing. At the end of my meal they even had a flambé cake for me. The other restaurant was Casa Nostra the Italian restaurant. The pumpkin risotto and the chicken Parmesan were wonderful. There was also plenty of Prosecco in both restaurants. Many people are speaking of shortages on the resorts, but there was nothing that stood out to me while I was there. The pools are very clean and I was always able to find a chair. There are also two snack bars on either end of the pools. The beach is only a short walk with a great composite boardwalk. I have been to Cuba more than 25 times and I have never been on a beach as beautiful as the one at this hotel. It is a shallow walk out with white sand and very clear water. There is no shortage of beach chairs, and Palapas even when the resort is full to capacity. Anyone going to the Melia International will definitely not be disappointed. Great food, large clean rooms, helpful staff, fantastic entertainment, and generally just one of the best resorts in Varadero. Four weeks to my next visit and the countdown is on.

This hotel is nice the staff was so sweet Roshan was an awesome entertainer. He is very sweet and kind and the DJ Tati was cool showed me how to dance to Latin music.I had a good time here I will come back again.
