LOVE, LOVE, LOVE GM Rainbow !!
3 times a charm, this is definitely My Home away from Home ! So many reasons to love this impeccable hotel. This LGBTQ resort is open minded, welcoming to everyone, just a place where you can feel secure. Reception is quick, thanks to Mila who always has a beautiful smile and helps out every time. The hotel itself is perfectly quaint, everything you need is just a few steps away. The Junior suites are spacious, clean and very modern. The Bungalows have suites where ground floor have swim outs with your very own private pool and are perfect with Butler service! Special mention to both Butlers Twin and Liubel who are always ready to please, attend to your needs, and make your stay most enjoyable. There are 2 beaches at this resort. The main beach is right off the main pool area which is just for chilling, relaxing and listen to the waves, no swimming possible there. Just a few steps away, there is another beach with a beach bar where you can lay all day and soak up the sun, drink to your hearts content and enjoy the crystal waters of Cayo Guillermo. There are 4 a la carte restaurants plus a buffet area, Wednesdays is Cuban day, all have fabulous food, always something good to eat! Very good service in all restaurants and buffet. Snack bar is open 24hrs with food and drinks and coffees. Thank you Heri !! Perfect at anytime Pool bar has a fantastic bartender Osmary who has a beautiful smile, always ready to serve you a cold drink or 2, LOL ! Lobby bar has the best and amazing bartenders, Dariel, Rafael, Minel are all so handsome and charming ! Makes you want to keep going back for more drinks !!! Animation team is wonderful, starting with Yaris who does a great job. All the dancers are exceptional, especially Yorlandys!!! Please tip generously, all staff work very hard and many long hours in order to provide the best service to their clients. Recommended 1US $ or 5CAD$ STAFF is what makes Rainbow so SPECIAL! They have a place in my heart and have become like family

Disappointing
Overall our visit was disappointing. Various shortages of food & drinks, cockroaches in the buffet. A missing bathing suit taken from our locked room. The bathing suit was a gift from our daughter and had only been worn once on the first day of our trip. On day three we realized it was missing. Reported incident to Front Desk staff member who directed us to Guest Experience. We returned the next day for an update only to be offered a shrug of the shoulders. (We also heard of two other guests that had items missing from their room as well) This incident resulted in us having to lock up all of our belongings for the remainder of our stay. Embarrassing for Melia to go on vacation and have to do this but sadly we lost trust in the staff. On the day before our departure I met with our rep Kathy to discuss our corncerns. Kathy introduced me to the Guest Experience Manager Kevin? I was shocked that he was unaware of the incident three days after it was reported. I brought him up to speed. He asked to see the room, I obliged. He was surprised to see our empty room other than our three locked suitcases. Even after this meeting with Kevin no formal report was taken and I never heard back from anyone prior to our departure. Needless to say, I was left with the impression that no one from this hotel was concerned that a member of their staff entered our room and removed our personal property. After numerous trips to Cuba we could not wait to leave this hotel. Extremely disheartening as we brought an extra suitcase full of essentials for the staff.

4 star (for Cuba)
Overall good experience! We were in “habana” building and the maids kept it tidy for us daily. Our safe didn't work 2/7 days but they fixed it for us. We paid for a beach suite and were probably the furthest away from the beach. We lost power twice. However, we had friends above the lobby rooms that had cockroaches. Avoid staying above the lobby. Try to stay in habana building. The buffet was not bad - we ate omelettes and French toast every morning and pasta bar every night. Don't forget to book your 2 free a la cartes! You can have lunch at the marina by the beach every day and it's delicious - chicken, rice, soup. We also had pasta for supper at the marina - highly recommend. Two of our yeti cups, 1 Stanley and 2 pool floaties were stolen when we were in the pool and not returned to lost and found. The staff were always kind and eager to help. There was a waterfall above the pool that didn't work until the last day and they ran out of vodka - good thing we brought our own from duty free just in case. We did the catamaran (our favourite), “spectaculaire” also really fun experience & got to hold baby alligators. And the Jeep safari, also fun but it's a long day sitting in a Jeep driving. There's also a 30 minute free boat tour at the beach to see starfish. Bicycles are free 1 hour every day. Be sure to use VPN when connecting to wifi or you'll get hacked and bring a wall adapter or you'll fry your phone. 7 hours away from Havana but we visited Ciego de Avila & moron. Overall I'd rate it a 4 star for Cuba - but how can you complain! We're in Cuba! If you're with a good group of people you'll have so much fun :) can't wait to go back!

Memories from Flamenco Resort
We just returned from our vacation at flamenco Memories resort. Here is our Memories from vacation at this resort. The only 4,5 star in this resort is the beach, there is long stretch of white sand beach with a lot of umbrellas and you don't need to worry about that you won't find one… Here is what we have experienced on our vacation… One of the worst impression from this resort is the main buffet. Honestly, the buffet should be closed due to the anti sanitary conditions. To start with, there is no working air conditioner in the buffet and they keep the main door open which attracts the millions of flies. There is flies everywhere, on the main buffet area where the food stations are, on the tables and you won't sit a minute without a fly not getting into your food, it was disgusting. A few times we saw cockroaches running on the walls and when we showed it to the waitress, she just shrugged her shoulders… I complained about flies, cockroaches and anti sanitary conditions in the main buffet area to the customer service, but no changes were made… I would be very surprised if nobody gets stomach sick due to such anti sanitary conditions. Secondly, when you walk into the buffet there is never set up tables with a clean cutleries and every time you have to chase waitresses asking them to bring you a fork/knife that you can start eating and often you have to wait 15-20 minutes until someone will come to your table. I am not even talking about the same food served for lunch and dinner every day and it cooked very poorly… The only thing that we ended up eating every day was ham/cheese with pasta or rice… I am not a picky eater, I was ok with eating daily some vegetables and fruits along with rice or pasta, but I felt bad for kids and men who were wondering around the buffet complaining about a poor food choices… Surprisingly, there were no coffee in the main buffet, in any other resorts we have been, we were always served coffee or tea in the morning, but not in this resort… After eating breakfast if you want to have morning cup of coffee, you have to go to the bar area to stay in line waiting for the bartender to make you a cup of coffee if they have one , as it also happened to us they did not have any coffee… We booked an ocean view room hoping to have a nice relaxing vacation, but ended up being stressed and could not wait to get back home… Another disaster we had to deal with was a millions of mosquitoes and of course there was no balcony door screens if you wanted to air out your room… We were not sleeping well at night, as our air conditioner was not working properly and no option to open the balcony door to be eaten alive by mosquitoes. Also every other day we did not have a clean towels in our room as the cleaning lady keep saying to us, “sorry the laundry is not working”… To summaries all of the above, I would say do not waste your money coming to this resort, if you want to have a nice relaxing vacation look for other resorts as it's clearly very poor managed and it seems nobody cares if people will come back to this resort or not. I would give only 1 star as a rating and I feel that management should be fired for having such a poor service in this resort… Hopefully my review will help people to save their money and to avoid the stress on their vacation…

Beautiful Resort
I am writing this review to let everyone know, if you give this resort a try you will become a repeat guest ( As most of the clients are) We all hear about shortages in Cuba, but I have never had any issues here. There is always a great variety of food for breakfast lunch and dinner. Buffet always has fresh meats / eggs/ salads/ cheese/ breads/ veggies/ soups/ sweets , etc for lunch the options also include a Pizzeria on the beach- fresh made to order pizzas. Snack bar with hot dogs, hamburgers, fries, sandwiches etc grill on the beach with chicken wings / taters etc. Dinner you can choose the buffet or Dailenis will be happy to make you a reservation for the al la carte - Japanese / Cuban or Italian ( all are fantastic) Many bars around the resort - lobby bar open 24 hours, ice bar , cigar bar, sports bar, pool bar, beach bar- you will never go thirsty! I would like to thank all the staff once again for a great vacation - Hotel management for running a great resort, kitchen staff and management for great food, Sahily for always helping with anything i need, Adriana for always taking the time to talk, Jose (the bell boy) will pick you up, drop you off, help with luggage, all the friendly smiles of the staff at the front desk ( Yarlenys, Yareida, Rachel - too many to mention ) Security all around the resort, making sure all guests are safe. The servers and bartenders Yanelis, Miriela , George, Mercedes, Michael, Yadi, Yaima,Lianey, Yelein, Taimy and Laidys - and so many more !! The gardeners for keeping the resort immaculate, pool staff for keeping the pool and area clean and safe, lifeguards for the hard work , staff on the beach working hard to clean a chair for you, making sure the beach is clean and safe and entertainment staff for offering many options to participate in each week. fyi - bring a snorkel, the beach is so clear and if you swim out a bit on the left side you will find many fish enjoy !
