ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE HEAD TO TOE
This resort is breathtaking and I'm going to tell you why. The service is spectacular we were greeted within 1.2 seconds the moment we entered any type of restaurant! The attitude on all the staff in the resort was incredible they were so happy, it was clear they loved their job! The food is incredible as you know in Mexico. There are two major buffets, tons of à la cart restaurants to pick from. Only two required bookings and than that it was first come first serve! There was a beach barbeque that served variety of things such as rice to meat and then of course hamburger to hotdogs. There was a fast food joint on the resort that was like the McDonald's of restaurants that was open till 3 AM. Access to food literally 24/7. I couldn't get over how the resort was laid out! It was not crowded whatsoever there was so many seating areas. There was many times that we woke up at 11 AM went down to the beach and had no problems with seating. Everywhere you look at not only are your rooms it is very very clean! The beach is literally a 10 second walk from the hotel this is not exaggerating! The beach is incredible you could walk the whole strip, the sand is amazing! The resort is on the beach and it is so breezy there I could not get over it! I can't get enough of this resort now I am back home and I will tell you that I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat I 100% recommend us! We were treated like Royals our whole stay!

Beautiful resort
VIM was our first all inclusive resort experience and while we enjoyed our time at the resort we felt some things could have been improved upon. The beach was stunning; however, you will be regularly approached by people trying to sell you things. All of them only asked us once as they went by and left us alone after we said no. Most of the restaurants were fantastic, but we didn't like having to scan using our phones for the menu. There were times the wifi wasn't working, so we couldn't see the menu. The evening entertainment was spot on and enjoyable every night. The grounds are lovely, but it was sad to see people (ie guests) being lazy and leaving their trash on the ground. Garbages are everywhere so it's inexcusable for guests at the resort to not put their garbage in the bins. Staff were amazing and always friendly. I was sad to learn that they work 6 days a week, surely the resort can afford to pay them more and work 5 on with 2 days off. Onsite shopping is expensive! Go to Playa del Carmen or Tulum for better shopping experiences. Be wary of the excursion company at the resort. It was obvious that the shopping areas the excursion guides took us to received some sort of kickback. We did not like the set up of the bathroom in our room. The toilet has zero privacy (it's just a glass door with some frosted strips across it). Apparently we were in a renovated room and this is a huge design oversight by the resort. Overall, we felt the cost we paid exceeded what the resort offered. We may return if we find a better price.

Highly recommend
This Hotel was excellent. The food, the service, the entertainment! Entertainment was the best I've seen at any resort and plenty of it. Live bands in afternoon and evening most days. Then a show, then some type of participation entertainment later, such as karaoke, tons of fun to watch, and the silent party. Everything you need is on an app on your phone, which I liked but my husband does not even turn his phone on during vacation as I'm sure many people don't so this may be a negative. The rooms were great and we had a swim out which we only use once or twice as it wasn't really a private swim out like some resorts. You had direct access from your room to a pool which was still nice. It wasn't connected to the lazy river pool, which was fine because the lazy river was in the shade most of the day and I didn't even make it around the whole circuit as it was chilly in the shade. One of the main pools not connected to any rooms was freezing (for me) many people were in it...(a long time) and had a swim up bar, so again, not for me. All staff were very friendly. Did not have club level and did not see much of a difference. We usually do upgrade to a club level at many resorts but had everything we needed here without. Not a very big resort, so walking was not an issue (I have some mobility issues) Towel/chair game was happening here but were always plenty of chairs and beds left open, specially on the beach. The seaweed was minimal and was maintained. Beach service was great. We like to go to different resorts all the time but would definitely return here and will highly recommend (I am a travel consultant)

Hotel Rui Palace
We came with a group of 25 consisting of young adults and their parent friend group . Hotel was clean and well kept . Grounds and facilities were awesome . The only disappointment was the food . This was the first all inclusive that we had been to that didn't take reservations for their al a carte restaurants. There were 4 different ones in the property which opened at 6:00 pm , if you weren't in line by 530pm you weren't getting in . The Italian restaurant had a limit of how many people they could serve in an evening so even if you lined up for dinner you weren't guaranteed to get in . Food quality was not great and not a lot of variety . The best thing was the fresh omellets in the morning and the nacho's with fresh guamolie . Staying at the palace had it's perks which allowed you to go to the Baja California adults only portion of the resort and the Santa Fe which was where our young adults hung out because of the night club and various foam themed pool parties they had . We had a junior suite for my husband myself and our 18 year old daughter and it was tight . The room had a California king which was great for us but our daughter had to sleep on a pull out couch that was very small and uncomfortable . Would have been nice to have two queen beds . This doesn't exist as most of the rooms only allow 3 adults or 2 adults and 2 children . We had a great ocean view but were right over the theatre lounge so it was loud until about 12pm . We originally had a room on the other side of the hotel but the view wasn't as nice so I asked to be changed I am sorry I did . Hotel was very close to downtown Cabo which was nice . Three dollar is or 60 pesos per person each way or a 20 min walk along the beach however the sand was coarse and heavy and walking along the beach was hard on the calf muscles . All in all the holiday was great just not consistent with the food . The staff were great and accommodating and service was fabulous .

Great experience Probably Wont Be Back For a While
We were at the Royale, not the Casitas. Check in was swift and fun with champagne flowing. We learned where we could and could not go right away on a map, so the Casitas-Only pools were not a surprise... and TBH it doesn't affect your stay at all (unlike other reviews). Bellhop was quick and lively so the overall first impression was nice. Room was big and clean and we had a nice view of the middle fountain grounds from our balcony. I love the open window concept of the tub to the bedroom/tv (we ate room service and watched tv in the tub a few times). But why do so many hotels opt for swinging glass between the toilet/water closet and the rest of the bathroom! Drives me nuts. You can hear everything lol! Our Personal Concierge Cesar was awesome and really planned out our days well. We set up our excursions with the counter beside the front desk with the very happy Beth (I believe) and, although we were misinformed about a few things, the trips were fun. The golf carts to shuttle you around the property were always near by and if they were going your direction they'd stop and see if you needed a ride. We never waited at the shuttle 'stops', we just started walking the way we needed and within a few minutes someone drove past. It was very accessible for us. We were never asked about timeshares once (albeit we were a younger couple), never sneakily upsold on wine or drinks, and the charges on the room at check out were exactly what we had accounted for - even our discounts on massages from their Monday deal. I was nervous reading so many negative reviews relating to the above, but that was not our experience at all. The beach was hilariously bad. Our travel agent gave us a heads up about the barriers and sandbags, but the triangle Landmine looking things right at the shore must be new. I'm laughing just thinking about the absurdity of it. We are going to DR in a month so we weren't that upset because we know we have a better beach waiting. But if anyone is coming for the beach I am so sorry! Go to Akumal on a day trip if you want a beautiful Mexican beach :) The service was awesome. Probably the highlight. We tipped all our waiters, bartenders, and maids simply because they all seemed to go the extra mile! The food itself was great at Santa Fey, Rincon Mexicana, and Kampai. Also room service food was good. Everywhere else was underwhelming, especially d'Italia. Reso at 9, seated at 9:20, our tiny portions were cold and when we tried to order more the kitchen was closed. Just fell flat. Fuentes is fun for the extra 25USD and food tasted great! We both fell ill soon after though, so we ended our stay on a lousy note. I'm just assuming it was related but who knows. We were close to the main lobby so we just wheeled our bags to the lobby for check out, but our concierge did pop out and try to order us a golf cart which was nice. I thought it would take too long and I was anal about the time so I declined. Little did I know our shuttle would be over an hour late and our tour rep was NEVER at the hotel (took us 4 days to track him down to schedule our shuttle) so I had no one to ask for help. A nice Front Desk man tried to help, but ended up just passing the front desk phone to me and I had to make multiple calls and was passed around with no resolution. Really stressful and was NOT something a guest is supposed to be doing. But, alas, the shuttle finally showed up and all was well. Maybe I am too neurotic, but that really did annoy me... Overall the stay was pleasurable, the workers were awesome, the room was decent, and the weather was fantastic. Food was not the be all end all I was expecting and although the grounds were immaculate, the resort itself just seemed unpolished. I kind of categorize it as the 'More-Expensive Cheap Option" for an all-inclusive resort. We may have been the wrong demographic, so I don't think we will be back for a while. Thank you El Dorado for a fun first trip to Mexico!
