Marquis - Los Cabos
Nice property; room was well-appointed and clean, and well-attended. Ours was mostly unobstructed, though more an ocean-view than ocean-front, recessed back from the beach; ours on the angle. There are 4-plex casitas nearest the beach on either end which I'd say are ocean/beach front, but one would have to know to book the lower unit w/ private infinity pool facing the beach... 4km of pristine beach out front; walk to pounding surf to the left, but a swimmable beach 15 or so minutes walking SW, in front of the Hilton, and daily whale watching right out front! Service was friendly but sometimes could be slow, and the included restaurant options are limited -- breezy evenings proved a challenge for the outdoor Italian (Pergola,) though that was probably our favorite taste. But the breakfast buffet and omelet station was also very good and we enjoyed coffees and paninis at Espresso Cappuccino. From what we observed, not many chose the "optional" U$140pp French restaurant? Activities/entertainment were plentiful; beach/pool volleyball, Ping-Pong tournaments, pool-Zumba, even (bee-bee) target shooting on the beach! Theme nights and live music were enjoyable as was our "art-walk" excursion to San Jose. Plenty of tour options available daily from the hotel. Low to mid-20's C during the day -- cloudy a few days, but generally decent for the end of January -- sometimes a stiff breeze made for cooler evenings at the pool-side buffet. Overall, a nice stay... for a week.
