ABSOLUTELY INCREDIBLE HEAD TO TOE
This resort is breathtaking and I'm going to tell you why. The service is spectacular we were greeted within 1.2 seconds the moment we entered any type of restaurant! The attitude on all the staff in the resort was incredible they were so happy, it was clear they loved their job! The food is incredible as you know in Mexico. There are two major buffets, tons of à la cart restaurants to pick from. Only two required bookings and than that it was first come first serve! There was a beach barbeque that served variety of things such as rice to meat and then of course hamburger to hotdogs. There was a fast food joint on the resort that was like the McDonald's of restaurants that was open till 3 AM. Access to food literally 24/7. I couldn't get over how the resort was laid out! It was not crowded whatsoever there was so many seating areas. There was many times that we woke up at 11 AM went down to the beach and had no problems with seating. Everywhere you look at not only are your rooms it is very very clean! The beach is literally a 10 second walk from the hotel this is not exaggerating! The beach is incredible you could walk the whole strip, the sand is amazing! The resort is on the beach and it is so breezy there I could not get over it! I can't get enough of this resort now I am back home and I will tell you that I would go back to this resort in a heartbeat I 100% recommend us! We were treated like Royals our whole stay!

Not a 5 star hotel
We stayed at the Riu Dunamar in July of 2022 . This hotel was the most disappointing one in my 6 stays in Mexico and 5th time in a Riu. Pros: Staff in buffet were one of the best weve ever had in an all inclusive, the beach was absolutely gorgeous, one of the best beaches we've seen in Mexico. Now for the cons: To start with, the check in was quick, but done in a very indifferent manner, nothing special, staff were treating visitors like numbers and there were no welcome drinks whatsoever or anything special to make you feel welcomed. We are a family of four, with two kids, and we were given a room above the NightClub Pacha. We were unable to sleep for the first night, so the next day we went to the front desk and asked for a room change, and it wasn't that simple. No one apologized for the discomfort and on top of that they asked us to pay a fee for the new room, which was apparently partially ocean view (explaining the extra cost). The overral esthetic of this hotel was very generic, done on a tight budget. You want be wowed by anything in this hotel. The furniture in the rooms were already damaged after 5 years of existence and there beds are small and uncomfortable. As goes for the food, the buffet was the worst experience I had in an all inclusive in Mexico. Again everything is chosen on a budget, no variety whatsoever. If you are a foodie person this is not the hotel for you. We did not go to any restaurants because we had heard the food is even worst. The meal's aren't horrible, it's just not tasty. Entertainment was nothing special. Cleanliness: was okay. Noise: this hotel is marketed as a family friendly resort, however, this hotel reminds me more of a spring break hotel: people partying, a lot of noise after the nightclub has closed, no matter where your room is. Overral this hotel is a big no no, especially at the price we paid. Because of this experience we will not be back in another Riu hotel. This is not a 5 star hotel. Be careful how much you pay.

Love this place!
This resort was bought on a great deal otherwise we might not have looked at it. We had the Privideged pachage whi h gave us access to certain restaurants, beach bar and beach area. We really enjoyed it! Beach is beautiful although it was quite often windy. The staff at the beach bars were great. Good booze. Great lounge chairs. The two pools were also nice. Lots of loungers with sunshades and umbrellas. The quiet pool had a swim-up bar as well as a walk up side. Loud pool only had the swim up side. The restaurants were fabulous. The buffet was the nicest I have ever experienced. So many choices! The asian restaurant needed a reservation, as did the privileged only restaurant. Steak house you can just stand in line. Tried them all. There is also a "food court" area in the center on the resort as well as 2 food trucks. These were great and kinda fun. The only trouble with them all is you needed to scan a QR code for menu and ordering. This was a problem for those who dont have a smart phone. Even those of us who do had trouble. They shiuld definitely have paper menus as a back up. We didnt watch much of the entertainment but the Super Bowl party was great! The rooms were beautiful. All suites. Nice balconies. Wifi was great throughout the resort. Rooms were clean and any maintenance issues were addressed quickly. There were only 2 bars in the evening...the lobby bar and the bar set up in the courtyard at night. The disco really never had much going on. If you want a party party place, this is not the place for you. All in all this place is fabulous

Not Really an Adult Resort
There are many positives about this hotel. The food is good. The staff are very nice. Check-in at the Adult Scene was quick and easy. Our swim-out room in Bldg 15 was amazing. It had separate bathroom counters/sinks. The hot water was endless. The patio was very large. The beach had powdery soft white sand. The Adult pool was nice and large. We never had trouble getting a chaise lounger with umbrella at the adult pool and we did not go early to save one. It was a little harder to get an umbrella at the beach. The ocean was always wavy, which for some could be fun. Not the greatest for swimming though. The red safety flag was out the whole week. They do a great job of cleaning the seaweed off the beach. They had a nice gym with lots of equipment. Only one of the 2 upright exercise bikes worked and it was calibrated at a difficult level for starting so it was hard to warm-up graduallly. The other bike had a sign on it all week saying it would be repaired soon. They did had a separate room with 8-10 very good Life Fitness spin bikes. The three biggest negatives for us and the reasons we would not go back to this resort: 1. It did not have the feel of an adult resort except at the adult pool and at night in the one adult only restaurant that was open. There are 2 restaurants on the adult side, Braza and Catch but only one was open at any time. In the evening most of the activity centered around a bar and the main stage which are in the family area and there were always many children out and about. There was no intimate adult activity such as a piano bar or small band or singer with a guitar where you could sit back, relax and enjoy a cocktail. There were a lot of people crowded around the main bar and very noisy. 2. In order to make a reservation for dinner, you had to either order a bottle of wine the day before or join the Star Class for a lot more money (about $70 per day per person). This resulted in us having to roam from one restaurant to the other to see if we could get in at a reasonable time. Quite often in order to eat around 8 pm we could not find a restaurant we liked (Catch, East, Steak House, Italian, Braza) and had to settle for waiting on ourselves at the main buffet. Not great when you have paid $2600 each for a week. 3. There weren't many activities during the day for most 60 people. At the adult pool they had drinking games and most sexy competitions (I'm bitter because I came in last place). They did do a bit of aqua-fit for 30 minutes around 11 am. The ocean was too rough for kayaking etc. There were no bike excursions or anything like that.

Amazing Family Vacation
We spent a wonderful week at The Finest for our first family vacation! We stayed in a Finest Club Swim Up Junior Suite, which was perfect since our youngest still takes 2 naps a day. We had an issue with where our room was (very little sun), and Victor at the Finest Concierge desk moved us the next day. We are so grateful he was able to accommodate us, we were very happy with the new room (Building 5, facing the main pool). The Finest Club section on the beach was our favourite spot. There was always a bed available, the staff working there were so attentive and friendly- especially Isabel. I've never experienced service like that at an all inclusive resort. All the restaurant staff were lovely as well, very accommodating to our needs. The whole resort is so family friendly, without being over the top about it. We visited the kids club with our 4 year old daughter, and she was in heaven on the slides and splash pad area. All of the kids “cocktails” and shows were a hit as well. We were able to experience the Mexican Fiesta night on the terrace. Our 4 year old was completely in awe of everything. I was really touched to see the staff engaging so much with the kids at the games, face painting etc. Thank you for such a fun evening! The Spa- my husband and I both did the Hydrotherapy sessions that come with booking a Finest Club room and it was so relaxing. I wish we booked a service as well. We can't wait to visit again, maybe even without the kids :)
